Wedding Inside

I was taking pictures of the facade of this church, that I thought was not in use because of it's dilapidated condition, when suddenly the door opened and out came confetti. Then I realized, there was a wedding inside.

I really love weddings held at antique churches compared to the modern churches or even outdoor ones because I think there is a hint of solemnity in it. Engaging in an age-old tradition of presenting to the Lord your wife and declaring your love to her at such a holy ground.

Nowadays, some people opt for outdoor weddings, surrounded by wonderful scenery, but I think those surroundings are just aesthetics. They may look great in videos and photographs but the holiness of the Sacrament is lost. People may admire your outdoor wedding photographs but what is most important is how the husband and wife feel for each other as they are in this Holy Matrimony.

Years later, as you look back in your wedding photographs, think of how you felt that day. Not on how you look or the placements of the wedding because aesthetics can be replicated. But on how you felt for your husband or wife, that simple feeling of happiness of being together for the rest of your life and hold on to it. Because as the years go by feelings may change or be not as great as it once were, but remember that for a moment in your life you are willing to give yourself to the person standing in front of you with great joy and the acceptance of a shared responsibility of building a better tomorrow as a couple. This is a temporary bliss that you can hold on and remember during trying times.

Happily ever after is lived a day at a time.

Communicating with Others

Pit it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it and, above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light.

Dating by the Fountain

This is a much simpler and more romantic way of dating, in my personal point of view. Although people always want something extravagant, I feel that simpler ways have more meaning to it. It keeps the focus on just both of you amidst wonderful surroundings like this fountain. I wish I have such kind of luck.

Manila Bay

This past week, I was in Manila and I was tasked to take some pictures of their park. Since the Manila Bay was just across the street, I took the liberty to take some pictures of what it looks like. It was my first time there and the place looks nice. It was great that Mayor Alfredo Lim took the establishments that were there before because they might destroy this magnificent place. A place where people can relax, feel at ease and look at the sunrise and sunset that it is famous for.

Nice Day for a Trim

A Gardener trimming the leaves of the plants into some desired look. I think he must be artistic and precise to do such a job involving huge plants.

Stained Glass Window

This is the view from the inside of the Carmelite Monastery, my favorite church. I was happy that I got to take photos of this place where there's one around. This church is closed immediately after each mass but I got a special permission to enter and take some shots. I always come back to this church to take photos and after all these years, I never get bored preserving its magnificence through my lenses. Andd rest assured, I post some more in the future.

It was a Good Day

Today was a good day. I taught someone new things that others would have charged for something, as that person said it. Work was nowhere in site so I shared my ideas with others for a good conversation. People began to add their own inputs which leads to the improvement and understanding of a certain subject by some who were confused. Days like this are rare were one can do something to lessen the burden of another by even just a little bit. I believe that knowledge should, not just be stored in your brain, but shared with others. It is better for knowledge should be passed on for it to propagate or may be improved as it is passed along. I long for days like this.

Here's Lookin' at You Kid

This one of my neighbor's kid and she's one of the triplets. Kinda cute, isn't she? I like her expression because it's as if she's wondering what this person in front of me is doing. A curious look of an innocent child.

True Courage

The idea of courage as a measure of a man is an illusion. Actually, one man’s courage may be another man’s stupidity, or foolhardiness – or even cowardly obedience. A man’s acts of bravery can be evaluated only in relation to his fears.

Of two men acting courageously in a crisis, one may be totally without fear and therefore ought not to be credited with much bravery, while the other is holding terror in check and deserves great admiration. And how shall we judge the bravery of a man who might not fight back when struck by someone in the street – but who might swim out to save a person from drowning?

Old Man by the Bleachers

This old man caught my attention, from the other side of the court, while watching a basketball game late this afternoon. He was attentively watching the game while airing his comments to the referees as they pass by him.

The Long Walk

I took this photo of my aunt while were at Hong Kong Ocean Park. I was a really long walk from this point to the exit and our legs are aching from too much walking. But it was definitely worth it and I'm very willing to take that long walk again.

What Could It Be?

I was be the wharf this afternoon and this group of children caught my attention. They were looking at something by the sea. I also went to find out what they were looking at but I couldn't see the thing that interests them. Maybe I just didn't look that close.

Hong Kong @ Night

This was taken during my trip to Hong Kong months ago. It was a windy evening with hints of rain when we toured the Avenue of the Stars and I took this wonderful sight in front of me. The dark background illuminated by the various lighting designs in the buildings. It would be nice to go back again.
