Catcher of the Day



I've always liked photographing fishermen from a distance. The vastness of the ocean brings contrast to the tiny speck a fisherman is in that environment.

For me, there is also a feeling of tranquility and courage as I see the fisherman paddling alone in the ocean. A journey that he takes alone for the welfare of his family.

These are poignant shots. They hint at what many men in the province go though everyday-- hardship and perseverance at sea.
